Genome Sequencing In UP Reveals Two Kappa Variants In Samples

Lucknow, July 9 (TNA) Report of the genome sequencing of 109 samples which was done in KGMU Lucknow in the past has been received, a state government spokesman said on Friday.

According to the report received, in 107 samples, only the old delta variant of the second wave of Covid has been confirmed, while in two samples Kappa variants were found. Both the variants are not new to the state, it was further informed.

The facility of genome sequencing should be continuously increased in the state for in-depth study and testing of corona virus. Establishment of a center equipped with this facility in the state will be beneficial.
