Gangster Act Slapped On Former IPS Officer Arvind Sen, 20 Others

Lucknow, March 23 (TNA) A case has been registered against 20, including retired IPS officer Arvind Sen in the case of cheating of crores in the name of getting flour and salt contracts to traders in the Animal Husbandry Department under the Gangster Act. All the accused are already in jail. The gang leader is Ashish Rai.

The gang included three private secretaries and constables posted in the secretariat. Inspector-in-charge Hazratganj Shyam Babu Shukla has registered a case against all under the UP Gangster and Anti-Social Activities Act.

According to the Inspector-in-Charge, the said gangs used to lure big businessmen of Gujarat, Karnataka, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh and other states in the name of getting contracts in UP.

The fraud came to the fore on the complaint of the businessman of Madhya Pradesh, Manjit Bhatia who had complained of fraud of Rs 9 crore. The entire matter came to the fore in the investigation of the STF and on June 13, 2020 after which a case was registered in Hazratganj.
