Gang Of Fraudsters Busted By Varanasi Police, Rs 1.87 Crore Recovered

Varanasi, April 29 (TNA) In a deft interstate operation by Varanasi Commissionerate police, a gang of fraudsters who duped a person, on April 20, in Varanasi of Rs 1.87 Crores were nabbed. A case was registered in PS Chetganj. Police Commissioner A Satish Ganesh informed that the Gang did not not have any permanent base and that their modus operandi included zipping across metropolitan cities, laying traps by offering business proposition and tax relief.

Finally after taking the potential target into confidence they used to decamp with the cash. During the entire crime they used fake identities. Four fraudsters - Pankaj Bharadwaj, Tarun Gautam, Rohan and Sachin Sharma have been arrested and a cash of Rs 1.87 Crores has been recovered from them. Further followup in investigations are on.

They will be produced in the District Court today for seeking Judicial remand. The Crime Branch team led by Inspector Anjani Pandey, SI Rajkumar Pandey, SI Suraj Tiwari were involved in this operation. A cash reward of Rs 1 Lakh will be given to the team by ACS Home.
