Four Killed As Truck Hits WagonR Returning From Bageshwar Dham In Hamirpur

Hamirpur, May 17 (TNA) Four people, including a husband and wife, were killed when a speeding truck rammed into their WagonR car on the Kanpur-Sagar highway in Uttar Pradesh’s Hamirpur district on Sunday afternoon. The victims were returning home after a religious trip to Bageshwar Dham when the accident took place near Chhirka village under Maudaha police station area.

According to police, the WagonR was badly mangled in the collision, killing all four occupants on the spot. The deceased have been identified as Narendra, 55, and his wife Rekha, 52, both residents of Nawabganj in Kanpur, along with Rajkपूर, 57, and his wife Meena, 54, who were also from Kanpur. The car driver, 25-year-old Ayush Chauhan, a resident of Lucknow, also died in the crash.

The incident occurred around 1:30 pm near Jageshwar Temple, when the car was hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction. Police reached the spot soon after receiving information, took custody of the bodies and sent them for postmortem. Additional Superintendent of Police Arvind Kumar Verma also visited the scene and reviewed the situation. The information was conveyed to the families of the deceased, while police have launched further proceedings in the case.
