Four Dead After Consuming Illicit Liquor In Pratapgarh, Three Cops Suspended

Lucknow, March 15 (TNA) Four people, including a woman have died after consuming illicit liquor in Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday. Following the tragedy, three policemen, including the station house officer (SHO) have been suspended.

The incident took place in village Manoharpur Rampur Dabi of Sangramgarh police station area, suddenly deteriorated on Sunday night when wife Jawaharlal Saroj reached CHC Sangramgarh. The deceased have been identified as Sunita Saroj (55), Vijay Kumar (35), Ram Prasad (40), and Jawaharlal (56).

Six people - Babulal (50), Ramdev (40), Munnalal (30), Amritlal (48), Nanhelal (50) and Om Prakash (30) are in critical condition and have been referred to Prayagraj.

Police have since registered a case in the case and are looking for a shopkeeper selling liquor. Superintendent of Police in charge and ASP East Surendra Prasad Dwivedi suspended three policemen including SO Nawabganj Prabhat Kumar.
