Former IPS Amitabh Thakur Sent To 14 Days Judicial Custody

Lucknow, Oct 12 (TNA) Former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Amitabh Thakur was sent to 14 days in judicial custody, in a case of obstructing the official work registered in Gomti Nagar police station.

Tthe investigator of the Gomti Nagar police station refused to take him on police remand saying that there is enough evidence against Amitabh Thakur, so judicial custody was given.

Amitabh Thakur while appearing before the CJM said that this matter is completely politically motivated.

He also said that he was falsely implicated and pleaded that there was no need for judicial custody as well. However, after listening to both the sides, CJM sent Amitabh Thakur into judicial custody till October 25. In this case, his wife and social activist Nutan Thakur is on an interim bail.
