Flowers Offered At Guru Gorakshnath Temple To Be Used To Manufacture Incense Sticks

Lucknow, November 16 (TNA) Incense sticks will be made from the flowers offered at the Gorakshnath temple, an official of the management said on Monday. By using the flowers of offerings, Yogi Adityanath has not only given a message of environmental protection, Clean India but has also provided a big and impactful impetus to Mission Employment And Mission Shakti, an official said.

Gorakhnath temple is among the famous temples of North India and on a daily basis around four to five thousand devotees come there. This number increases manifold on Saturday and Tuesday. During the one-month fair held on Makar Sankranti, this number runs into millions.

Naturally every devotee also offers flowers according to his reverence to other Gods and Goddesses in the temple. The temple houses the shrines of all the deities associated with Hinduism apart from Guru Sri Gorakshnath.

Their garlands are changed everyday. The bigger ones come for Guru Shri Gorkshnath and the rest are meant for the other gods and goddesses. In total, the temple administration consumes about 100 to 150 large garlands daily. The rest of the devotees bring flowers or garlands.

Now these flowers, which become useless after offering, will spread their fragrance in the form of incense sticks at the people's houses - courtyards and places of worship.
