Five Of A Family Hacked To Death In Prayagraj

Prayagraj, April 23 (TNA) Prayagraj was jolted on Saturday with the killing of five members of a family. A small baby was found alive in the ill-fated home while the perpetrators also set one of the rooms on fire. The brutal murders took place in Khaivajpur village of Tharwai.

The victims include a couple along with their daughter-in-law and 2-year-old grand daughter. All were attacked with sharp edged weapons. and put to death. After committing the crime, the killers had set fire to a room in the house. When people saw smoke coming out of the house in the morning, they reached the spot after which the incident came to light.

The deceased include Ram Kumar Yadav (55), his wife Kusum Devi (52), daughter Manisha (25), daughter-in-law Savita (27) and granddaughter Meenakshi (2). Another granddaughter Sakshi (5) however was found alive. As of now, nothing is known about who committed the murder and why. Police officers are on the spot, the investigation is going on. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Mayawati and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath have mourned the killings.
