Five Killed In Road Mishap In Banda, Six Injured Seriously

Banda, February 16 (TNA) Five persons have been killed and half-a-dozen seriously injured in a road mishap in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. According to information available, the injured have been dmitted to the district hospital and medical college. While one seriously injured person has been referred to Kanpur, the remaining 5 injured are being treated at the district hospital and medical college itself.

The cause of the accident has come out to be driving under the influence of alcohol. Police have taken the dead bodies in their possession and sent them for postmortem and legal action is being taken. The accident happened on Tindwari Paprenda Road.

According to the information, at around 4:15 in the morning, 11 people in a Scorpio and Bolero were going to Niwich of Palani police station. All these vehicle riders were returning from a procession from Rajapur in Chitrakoot district, while overtaking each other on Paprenda Tindwari Road, both the vehicles lost control and rammed into a roadside tree.
