First Waqar Mehdi Memorial Award For Journalism And Social Service Given Away

Lucknow, Nov 15 (TNA) City journalist Kulsum Talha has been honoured with the first Waqar Memorial Award for journalism and social service. The award covers her 40 year journey of journalism plus Osama Talha Society and Kishwari Konnect work on health, education, environment and careers.

Special focus on gender sensitivity and Talaffuz- an attempt to preserve the spoken Urdu - the essence of our Ganga Jamaica tehzeeb. This is pioneering work and acknowledged by the scholars of Language.

Talha does a special segment titled Talaffuz aur Media. We have done these free diction and pronunciation workshops at Mumbai Press Club, Press Club of India, PC of Lucknow, Doordarshan Delhi, Akashwani.

Present at the function were chief guest Dr Ammar Rizvi, special Guest Dr.Mansoor Hasan, Dr Mehdi Abbas and organizer Dr Sharib Rudalvi. Programme was conducted by Prof Dr Sabra Habib.
