First U Girder Successfully Erected In The Second Corridor From Agra Cantt to Kalindi Vihar

Agra, June 30 (TNA) In line with the swift execution of the Agra Metro Rail Project, construction work is being done at a fast pace in the second corridor by Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation. UP Metro has successfully erected the first U girder in the second corridor being built from Agra Cantt to Kalindi Vihar. During the event, Agra Metro's Project Director, Arvind Kumar Rai, along with other senior officials, was present.

The U girder is lifted and placed on the pier cap, taking the help of two cranes of 500 tonnes each. The U girder is 28 metres long and weighs approximately 160 tons. This entire process is performed under the supervision of skilled erection engineers at the site. Special attention is paid to safety. The casting of pier caps, U-girders, etc., structures is being carried out in the casting yard located at Dauki.

Currently, the metro is being successfully operated on the priority section from Taj East Gate to Mankameshwar Metro Station of the first corridor between Taj East Gate to Sikandra.

At the same time, the construction work in the remaining underground part of this corridor has reached its final stage. The civil construction work of the balance section, consisting of four underground stations, has already been completed.
