First High-level Meeting Of ‘Invest UP’, IIDC Holds Webinar With Industrialists To Resolve Their Issues

All departments concerned should take responsibility for their actions and resolve issues of industry according to the policies and rules within a fixed time frame.

LUCKNOW || In order to resolve various issues of industries, Infrastructure & Development Commissioner (IIDC), Alok Tandon chaired the first high-level meeting of Invest UP, the newly created investment promotion and facilitation agency of Uttar Pradesh, here at Lok Bhawan through virtual media on Thursday.

IIDC reviewed various issues faced by existing industry and issued directions for speedy and time-bound disposal. Additional Chief Secretary, Infrastructure and Industrial Development, Alok Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, MSME, Navneet Sehgal and Secretary, Infrastructure and Industrial Development and CEO, Invest UP – Neena Sharma were present in the meeting.

Around 25 industrialists and representatives of industrial organizations participated through webinar and 21 cases were discussed. Of which six cases of revenue department were discussed in a separate meeting.

In Industrial Area, Usra Bazar, Deoria, UPSIDA was proposing to invite tender for repair of roads and sewers, culverts at the earliest.

It was informed that all six cases pertaining to land transfer, land use change, construction of roads, drain etc. relating to industries have been resolved and forwarded for approval at competent level. In the case of M/s Sadhari Shakti (Pvt), Ltd. Fatehpur, Fazalganj, Kanpur, Tandon directed the UP Power Corporation that the power dues of the sick units purchased by the entrepreneurs at auction should be recovered from the old unit and not from the buyer.

On the issue of industries in Hathras industrial estate getting high monthly electricity bills due to billing being done on KWH and KWA parameters, U.P. Power Corporation (UPPCL) informed that technical solution of this issue will be provided probably by October for certain category of industries by making appropriate provision in billing software.

On the demand of Indian Industries Association, Lucknow to allow changing of industrial plots to free-hold, whose lease has expired and were allotted by Improvement Trust, Additional Chief Secretary, Infrastructure and Industrial Development, Alok Kumar directed Housing Department to prepare a policy proposal regarding the same.

The CEO of UPSIDA, Mayur Maheshwari informed that in Industrial Area, Usra Bazar, Deoria, UPSIDA was proposing to invite tender for repair of roads and sewers, culverts at the earliest.

Earlier, addressing the entrepreneurs through web link, IIDC said that industrial development was one of the top priorities of State government. Chief Minister has issued clear instructions to resolve issues of industries in a timely manner. “We have been holding Udyog Bandhu meetings with entrepreneurs regularly, this constructive dialogue will continue to be held through State’s new agency Invest UP as well”, he added.

In Thursday's meeting issues related to departments of Infrastructure and Industrial Development, Revenue, Housing, Urban Development, MSME, Energy, UP State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), PICUP and Stamp and Registration were considered.

In addition to entrepreneurs and representatives of industrial organizations such as Indian Industries Association and Laghu Udyog Bharti, Chief Executive Officer, UPSIDA – Mayur Maheshwari and senior officers of concerned departments participated in the meeting.
