Prayagraj, July 22 (TNA) The Allahabad University administration has filed a case against several students leaders, including former IPS Amitabh Thakur, who demonstrated in support of the students at Allahabad University on Friday. Chief Proctor Dr Rakesh Singh has lodged an FIR against Amitabh Thakur, student Manish and 20 others at Colonelganj police station.

In this, they have been accused of demonstrating without permission, creating ruckus and destabilizing the campus and spreading chaos. Apart from this, a case was registered against three students for demonstrating on the Manipur issue.

Research student Manish Kumar, who was involved in these two cases, has been suspended by the Allahabad University administration. The students of the varsity are agitating over the death of media studies student Ashutosh Kumar Dubey alleging negligence on the part of the Allahabad University administration.

On Wednesday, former IPS and national president of Azad Adhikar Sena Amitabh Thakur reached the university. When the police did not allow them to enter, they took the memorandum of the students from outside the gate itself.
