FIR Against Seven Including Three Former CMOs In The Drug Purchase Scam In Badaun

Badayun, April 18 (TNA) An FIR has been lodged against seven, including three former CMOs in the drug purchase scam in Badaun.

The EOW was entrusted with the investigation of the entire case in 2007. The complaint was that medicines were purchased without demand from medical stores for government hospitals which were not even authorized distributors from Uttar Pradesh Drugs and Pharmaceutical Company Limited (UPDPL).

The Economic Offenses Research Wing (EOW) has registered an FIR in the drug purchase scam that took place during the Mulayam government in 2004-05 and 2005-06. This FIR has been registered in Lucknow sector of EOW.

EOW's investigation revealed that Dr. Hariram, Dr. MP Bansal, Sudhakar Dwivedi, SMO Store CP Singhal, Pharmacist Anupam Kumar Dubey, Meenakshi Medical Store and Dau Medical and lakhs of rupees were misappropriated in the name of drug purchase in connivance with the proprietor of the surgical center Rajesh Chaurasia. That is, without the supply of medicine, the bills continued to be levied and it was paid.

The special thing is that most of the payments were made on the billing of less than 50 thousand rupees so that this scam does not get caught. A case has been registered under sections 409, 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120B of IPC and section 13-2 of Prevention of Corruption Act for misappropriation of government money, falsification of papers, cheating.
