Fake GST Racket Worth Rs 700 Crore Busted In Agra, Mastermind Arrested

Agra, Sep 27 (TNA) A big racket of fake GST receipts worth Rs 700 crores has been busted in Agra. The mastermind of the racket Nitin Verma has also been arrested. He got 26 fake firms registered in different states between 2017 and 2019 with fake Aadhaar numbers and PAN numbers.

He issued fake invoices, bills and e-way bills of about Rs 691 crores without transacting goods between these firms. The Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Commissionerate Agra on Sunday took major action against theft.

The team arrested him from Sector-7 of Aawas Vikas Colony. After this he was produced in the court, from where he has been sent to jail. The departmental team is looking for its other comrades.

In this case, the CGCT team had arrested Chandra Prakash Kriplani in January 2020, then the department had traced a transaction of 400 crores through fake bills. Kriplani was then sent to jail, who is currently out on bail.
