EV Charging Stations To Soon Come Up On Expressways In Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, October 26 (TNA) Electric vehicles will run carefree on the expressway as very soon charging stations will be built. Applications will be invited from November 11 for this purpose. State-of-the-art charging stations will be built on the expressways of Uttar Pradesh to run electric vehicles (EVs).

For this, the process of setting up public charging stations with battery swapping system has started on Yamuna, Agra-Lucknow, Bundelkhand, Purvanchal and Gorakhpur Link Expressways.

Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEDA) will develop these charging stations on PPP mode. The special thing is that UPEDA will give land on simple lease for 10 years to the selected applicants for charging stations. Also, UPEDA will provide 100 percent financial support.

Applications for charging stations will be invited from November 11. The tender will open on 29th November. Through this tender, charge point operator will be selected, who will develop the public charging station.

The government will set up 2000 charging stations to promote electric vehicles. This includes 1300 EV public charging stations in municipal cities including Agra, Lucknow, Prayagraj, 100 in heritage sites like Ram Mandir, Taj Mahal, 200 at tourist places like Mathura-Vrindavan and Varanasi-Ayodhya and 400 on the national and state highways of the state. Will be established.
