Electricity Cable Bursts Into Flames At Prayagraj Railway Junction, Big Tragedy Averted

Prayagraj, Oct 1 (TNA) A major tragedy was averted at the Prayagraj railway junction on Friday as a frire broke out but was timely doused. The incident happened at around 1 pm at platform 4-5 when an electricity cable suddently burst into flames. This led to chaos.

The cable continued to burn for a long time and the railway staff, an eye witness said, remained mute spectators. Later somehow it could be controlled. Fortunately, no passenger train was parked on the platform at that time, otherwise a major accident could have happened.

Chief Public Relations Officer of North Central Railway (NCR) , Dr Shivam Sharma said that an inquiry has been set up into how the cable caught fire. Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (General) is probing the matter. There is no word yet on how the fire started. At present, this fire has been brought under control immediately and there is no casualty, he informed.
