State Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna released the figures of increase in the economic activities of the state and increase in the revenue of the government on Tuesday.
According to these figures, revenue of Rs 4290.92 crore has been received in the state under GST in September 2021, while Rs 3680.20 crore was received in September last year. In September 2021, revenue from VAT was Rs 2200.40 crore. It was Rs 1653.88 crore last year.
Similarly, in September, 2559.85 crore revenue has been received in the Excise Department. Whereas in September last year Rs 2140.61 crore was received. The revenue receipt for September 2021 under stamp and registration has been 1801.30 crores. 1429.00 crore was received in last September. The revenue receipt of September in transport is 520.12 crores as compared to 439.41 crores received in September last year.
This time in April, eight and a half times the revenue was received as compared to the lockdown imposed last year due to economic work being done in the state.
The state government received revenue of Rs 11196.49 crore in the main items of non-tax revenue in the month of April, which was 85 percent of the monthly target and Rs 9898.44 crore more than the corresponding month last year.
In the same sequence, revenue of Rs 11164.11 crore was received in June of the financial year 2021-22, while Rs 9034.83 crore was received in June of the year 2020-21. This trend of increase in revenue is continuing in the state, and it is because of the decisions taken by the Chief Minister.
Suresh Khanna claims that Uttar Pradesh is the first state in the country, where partial corona curfew has been implemented while making all efforts to curb the corona epidemic. Business activities are going on here under the Corona Protocol. Whereas in many other states there was complete lockdown. In the states with lockdown, almost all industries remained closed and economic activities have also come to a standstill. Whereas business activities are going on in Uttar Pradesh as before. About eight and a half lakh industries are registered in Uttar Pradesh.
About 80 lakh people work in these industries. Similarly, about 80 lakh industries are unregistered in the state and two crore people work in them. In the partial corona curfew imposed in the state, they were allowed to do their work. The work of lakhs of daily wage earners, street shopkeepers, daily laborers and workers working in factories continued.
Due to the government's decision to save life and livelihood, all of them did not have to face the crisis of livelihood due to the exemption given to them to continue their work during the corona curfew, he claimed. Due to this decision of the government, following the Corona protocol, industries and businesses also ran in the state and the employees also did not face any loss. The state government also got the benefit of this partial corona curfew. The figures released for September of revenue receipts prove this.
