Drunken Brawl In Prayagraj Leaves Two Dead On Holi, Six Cops Suspended

Prayagraj, March 18 (TNA) A drunken brawl on Holi led to the death of two youth in Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh on the festival of Holi on Friday. The crime was committed in the Dandia mohalla of Allapur outpost area, due to alleged drunkenness and an old dispute when a scuffle broke out between the two sides at around 2 pm which was initially calmed down by seniors on both sides.

About 2 hours later, it turned into a deadly attack, which resulted in the death of Rahul Sonkar from one side and Sanjay Rajput from the other side. Police have begun a man hunt for the accsued after cross-FIR’s were registered by both sides. Six teams have bene formed to arrest the accused. Owing to charges of laxity by outpost cops, six policemen have been suspended and departmental action initiated against them.
