Deoria Murders: UP Chief Minister Cracks Whip, Suspends 15 Officials

Lucknow, Oct 5 (TNA) Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday cracked whip in the sensational incident of Deoria in which six persons were killed earlier this week and sacked 15 district officials. The officials who have been suspended include one circle officer of the police, a sub-divisional magistrate (SDM).

According to a government spokesman, one station house officer (SHO), three lekhpal’s, one head constable , four constables and two tehsildaar’s have also been acted upon. The saffron-robed chief minister had taken a grime view of the incident in Fatehpur village of Deoria in which a report submitted to him, pointed out the laxity of several district officials.

It came to light that the deceased Satya Prakash Dubey had filed many complaints on the IGRS about grabbing of Gram Samaj land. These plaints were sent to the revenue department as also the police. However, officials of both these departments made light of the complaint and failed to act on them.

This also lead to the killing of Dubey and his family ultimately. Those suspended include SDM Yogesh Kumar Gaud and Jilajeet, who us the CO Rudrapur.
