Dense Fog, Poor Visibility And Intense Cold Hits Rail, Vehicular And Air Traffic In Prayagraj

Prayagraj, January 11 (TNA) Dense fog continued to engulf the holy city of Prayagraj for the third consecutive day on Tuesday, disrupting normal life and hitting vehicular, rail and air traffic in a big way. Due to low visibility, Prayagraj Express reached Prayagraj on Tuesday evening instead of morning.

Flights from Prayagraj to 6 major cities had to be cancelled. The minimum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 5 degrees and maximum 17 degrees. The situation is that even VVIP trains like Rajdhani are running late by 12 to 15 hours. Except the flight from Prayagraj to Bilaspur, all other flights were canceled due to low visibility. Flights going from Prayagraj to Gorakhpur, Mumbai, Bhopal, Bangalore, Raipur, Dehradun remained cancelled.

Apart from Patna Rajdhani Express, Rewa Express reached Prayagraj late by 12 hours, Sangam Express by about 5 hours, Howrah Rajdhani by 17 hours, Vande Bharat Express by 5 hours, Sivagangai by 10 hours. Passengers had to sit on platforms for hours waiting for trains.
