Dengue-Viral Fever Spread In UP, Noida, Ghaziabad And Lucknow Worst Hit

Lucknow, Sep 26 (TNA) Amidst unprecedented humid conditions, dengue and viral fever are spreading like wildfire in most parts of the state. The worst hit districts are Lucknow, Noida and Ghaziabad, where the number of dengue positive patients is swelling by every passing day.

According to health officials, the maximum number of dengue patients have been found in Gautam Bhuddh Nagar (Noida)- 700, followed by neighbouring Ghaziabad where about five hundred patients are suffering from dengue.

6136 patients have been found in the state since January of which seven could not be saved. Recently, genome sequencing of dengue was done by the Health Department. Dengue 2 strain was found in 18 out of 46 samples of GB Nagar. Similarly, in the samples of other districts including Ghaziabad, dengue 2 strain was found in 20 to 30 percent of the samples.

In this regard, KGMU Medical Superintendent and Professor of Medicine Department, D Himanshu says that there are four strains of dengue (1,2,3,4). In this, patients of dengue 1 and 2 strains have been continuously found. This is nothing new. If people who have had dengue once, they are bound to get dengue again, then 2 more strains of dengue are found in them. If you have been affected by dengue twice within a month, then take special precautions.

In the state capital Lucknow, private and government hospitals are packed with patients suffering from fever. While most of them are dengue patients, others are suffering from viral. Owing to the potency of fruits like kiwi, papaya, believed to be enhancers of platelet count which falls during dengue, have soared sky high.
