Death Toll In Sambhal Cold Storage Roof Collapse Rises To Five, Rescue Operations Continue

Sambhal, March 17 (TNA) The death toll in the roof collapse at a cold storage yesterday rose to five on Friday with two more bodies being retrieved from the debris. During the rescue operations undertaken by the teams of SDRF and NDRF 11 people have been pulled out so far.

NDRF personnel however are searching for the trapped people with the help of their sniffer dogs. “We have increased our force for the morning. Other teams of NDRF and SDRF will also come by morning” Manish Bansal, Sambhal District Magistrate informed.

We have detained 4 people for questioning. The main accused are absconding and are being looked out for. We will be able to ascertain the real reason for the collapse of this building only after the debris is removed

An FIR has been registered against the owner of the dold store and two named people. “We have detained 4 people for questioning. The main accused are absconding and are being looked out for. We will be able to ascertain the real reason for the collapse of this building only after the debris is removed”, SP Chakresh Mishra, Sambhal added.

The AR Potato Cold Storage is located on the Islamnagar Orchi Marg at the Sambhal-Badaun border, an official informed. The cold storage was being used to store potatoes and there were many people present when the mishap took place.
