Death Of Kazakistan Kids: Three Employees Of Cough Syrup Manufacturing Company In Noida Arrested

Noida, March 3 (TNA) In the case of death of 18 children in Uzbekistan allegedly due to consumption of cough syrup manufactured in Noida, Kotwali Phase-3 police had filed a case against the company M/s Marion Biotech Pvt. Three employees of the company were arrested on Friday while the owner and his wife of the company are said to be absconding.

Operation Head of Marion Biotech Pvt Ltd, Tuhin Bhattacharya, Manufacturing Chemist Atul Rawal and Mool Singh, are in police custody after being arrested from from B-48, Sector-67. Their arrest came after the drug samples taken by Drugs Inspector Ashish of Ghaziabad were not found to meet the prescribed standards.

DCP of Central Noida, Rajeev Dixit said that in a complaint related to the case, it has been said that the cough syrup manufactured in Sector 67-based pharmaceutical company M/s MarionBiotech Pvt Ltd were not found to meet the standards.

On the complaint under Section 274/275/276 IPC and 17, 17A, 17B of Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 at Police Station Phase-3, a case was filed against Company Directors Jaya Jain, Sachin Jain, Operation Head Tuheen Bhattacharya, Manufacturing Chemist Atul Rawal and Mool Singh K.

A team of central agencies and the Uttar Pradesh Pharmaceutical Department had inspected the company's office here on December 29 last year and 36 samples were taken for testing. Noida's drug inspector Vaibhav Babbar said that 22 samples had failed after inspection.
