Criminal Who Snatched Mobile From ABES Girl Student, Killed In Encounter With Ghaziabad Police
Ghaziabad, October 30 (TNA) Jitendra alias Jeetu, the second criminal who robbed mobile phone from B.Tech student Kirti Singh in Ghaziabad, has been killed in a police encounter. This encounter took place in Mussoorie area around 5 am on Monday.
The student had died during treatment at Yashoda Hospital on Sunday evening. In this case, a robber was also injured in an encounter on Saturday evening and has since been sent to jail. One SHO has been suspended and two inspectors have been sent to line for negligience in duty.
DCP Vivek Chandra Yadav said that the police team was checking on the canal track in Mussoorie police station area. During this time, two people riding motorcycles were seen coming from the front. When the police tried to stop them, they opened fire and started running away. In retaliation, the police also opened fire, which hit one of the miscreants.
A policeman was also injured in this encounter. Both of them were immediately sent to the hospital. The criminal died there. He has been identified as Jitendra alias Jeetu, a resident of Kallugarhi under Mussoorie police station area in Ghaziabad. There are 9 cases of robbery registered against Jeetu. He was involved in robbing a mobile phone from a student on the evening of 27 October
Ravindra Singh, resident of Pannapuri in Hapur city, is a loco pilot. His daughter Kirti Singh was a first year B.Tech student at ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad. On the evening of 27th October, she was coming to Hapur from college in an auto with her friend Diksha. On the way, two miscreants riding a bike came near Dasna flyover.
They tried to rob the mobile phone from Kirti who was sitting next to the auto. When Kirti did not leave her mobile, the miscreants dragged her down from the auto. She fell headlong on the road and got seriously injured. After this the miscreants ran away after looting the mobile phone. Since then the student was undergoing treatment at Yashoda Hospital in Ghaziabad. She was on ventilator. The student died at 7.40 pm on Sunday evening.
