Criminal Who Shot A Police Official Killed In Police Encounter In Meerut

Meerut, February 4 (TNA) The criminal who shot the outpost in charge in Meerut has been killed by the police in an encounter. The police are currently conducting intensive raids in search of other accused. The deceased had shot post-in-charge Munnesh Singh Kasana 11 days ago in Kankarkheda, Meerut.

The name of the criminal killed in the encounter is Vinay Verma. The encounter between the police and the miscreants lasted for about an hour. A constable Sumit Chaprana was also injured in the encounter. On the other hand, the police are also conducting raids to search for other associates of the deceased criminal.

Meerut SSP Rohit Singh Sajwan said, "On the late night of 22-23 January, in the Kankarkheda police station area, 3 miscreants had looted a vehicle from in front of the HR Pavilion and when the police chased the vehicle with the help of GPS, the miscreants were arrested they opened fire on the police. During this, Sub-Inspector Munesh Kumar was shot in the chest, he was admitted to the hospital.

Police had registered a case of attempt to murder and robbery against the three miscreants. On Saturday evening the police arrested 2 accused Vinay Verma and Naresh Sagar who were trying to escape from Agra. The police team took Vinay Verma to the hideout and told him to recover the weapon used in the incident and there he opened fire and ran away.

One of the policemen got injured. Vinay Verma again fired at the police and in retaliation he was hit by 2 bullets, he was admitted to the hospital where he died. According to the police, two days ago the police had announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on the criminal Vinay Verma. Vinay Verma was wanted under the Gangster Act at Kankarkheda police station.

It was told that the deceased Vinay Verma alias Shivam Verma was originally a resident of the Mehndi locality of Kankarkheda. His mother is divorced. She has been living with her three sons in a house on rent in S Pocket, Pallavapuram for a long time. The deceased criminal was number two who was jailed in 2017 in a case of extortion and kidnapping from Kankarkheda police station
