COVID Spins Out Of Control In UP: 223 Deaths Statewide, Lucknow Tops With 42 Fatalities In One Day

Lucknow, April 24 (TNA) Situation of the Coronavirus pandemic seems to have gone out of hands as the state reported 38055 fresh cases and 223 deaths in a single day. It is yet another shameful and frightening high for India's most populous state. The state capital Lucknow registered 5461 new cases and 42 deaths.

This is almost double the figure reported in the past day. Situation in reality, experts say is far worse and the deaths as are the cases are grossly under reported. Prayagraj reported 15 deaths in the last 24-hours and Kanpur city also reported a high of 13 deaths and 2044 fresh cases of COVID.

Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reported 2786 cases on Saturday and 10 deaths. Ten deaths have also been reported from Ghaziabad and six people lost the battle with Coronavirus in Noida.

The virus seems to be on a huge surge in Agra, a city which was not reporting many casualties in the past few weeks as it logged a high of 11 deaths in the past 24-hours.Jaunpur reported 732 new cases and 5 deaths. Four people died in Rae Bareilly and Mathura.

Etawah, a hitherto not majorly hit district reported six deaths and 427 cases. 390 cases have been reported from Mainpuri where one person died as well. Kannauj, another district where were not many cases were reported, three persons died on Saturday and 174 cases have come to light in a single day.
