COVID Patient Dies At Lucknow Hospital, Family Creates Ruckus

According to information available, 45-year-old Ramesh Kumar Singh, who had tested positive for Coronavirus

LUCKNOW || Relatives and attendants of a COVID-19 patient who passed away created a ruckus at the Mayo hospital in the state capital on Thursday, accusing the management of fleecing them of money and not allowing handover of the body.

According to information available, 45-year-old Ramesh Kumar Singh, who had tested positive for Coronavirus, was initially referred to the L3 Lokbandhu hospital two days ago but he was kept at the L3 Mayo hospital in Gomtinagar.

Family members allege that no proper treatment was administered on the patient, leading to his tragic death. Now once they have raised the matter, the hospital is not ready to hand them over the body of Singh, they further said. They alleged that the medical facility was asking for Rs 3 lakh, only after which the body would be handed over.

Heavy police reinforcements have bene rushed to the hospital and senior district officials, led by the city magistrate are on the scene of the altercation.
