Covid On Its Lowest In UP But CM Yogi Warns Against Letting Down The Guard
Lucknow, August 31 (TNA) With continuous efforts of the state government, the situation of the second wave of corona epidemic in Uttar Pradesh seems to be under control, with the infection on its lowest across the state.
According to officials, there are now zero active cases in 23 districts of the state. In the testing of 01 lakh 73 thousand 419 samples done in the last 24 hours, not a single new patient was found in 65 districts.
Only 19 newly infected were found, while 74 people were discharged after recovering. The total number of active cases in the state is 256. The Covid recovery rate is 98.6, while the positivity rate was 0.01% in the last 24 hours.
The cases of Covid in various states are increasing rapidly once again, teh UP chief minister has however asked people to be cautious and not down the guard. "We have to be careful. It is very important to strictly follow the covid protocol" he said at a review meeting on Tuesday.
Till August 30, more than 07 crore 15 lakh 60 thousand vaccine doses have been administered. More than six crore people of the state have taken at least one dose of the vaccine.
He also instructed officials to ensure effective night curfew after 10 pm and that all shops/markets are closed by 10 pm. "People should not roam on the streets unnecessarily" he sternly told officials.
Schools from class 1-5 are opening from September 1, he said while underlining that full care should be taken of the Covid protocol in schools. The work of cleanliness, sanitisation should be done every day. Along with education, full attention should also be paid to the safety of the children, he added.
