Court Orders Release Of Amitabh Thakur’s Mobile Phone
Lucknow, May 6 (TNA) In an order, ADJ Harbans Narain said that as per Amitabh he was taken in illegal custody on 27 August 2021 when his phone was taken forcibly and later shown as seized item. Amitabh said he and his family were facing many difficulties because of lack of mobile phone. He also apprehended deletion of audio-video data from his phone by Lucknow Police.
The Court said that Mobile was shown as found in search and was not a case property. It is an electronic good which can get damaged while being kept in Police station. Even the Prosecution has not opposed its release.
Hence the Court directed release of Mobile phone on personal bond of Rs. 20000. It also ordered SHO Hazratganj to hand it over to Amitabh after proper verification. Amitabh’s wife Dr Nutan Thakur said they would go to Hazratganj Thana later today to collect the mobile phone.
