Chakeri Police Station In Kanpur Becomes First In UP To Have Sound Recorder Cameras

Kanpur, MAy 14 (TNA) Callous and hyper policemen be warned now as they will now no longer be able to escape from assault, indecency or harassment at police stations. This as in a first, Kanpur Commissionerate Police is going to equip all its police stations, outposts and police offices with IP (Internet Protocol) cameras.

Chakeri has become the first police station to be equipped with sound recorder cameras under the new system. Cameras will also start working in Naubasta and Barra from Saturday. In the coming one month, the work of installing cameras in all the police stations will be completed.

Recently two incidents came to light in Kanpur. The woman, who was caught on charges of theft in Nawabganj, later committed suicide. It was alleged that the police assaulted her during interrogation at the police station, due to which she was hurt.

Savitri, the maid accused in the Madhu Kapoor murder case in Swaroopnagar, also accused the police of giving third degree in the name of interrogation. Every time the police is standing in the circle of questions.
