Chain Snatcher Duo From Bihar Injured In Police Encounter In Varanasi

Varanasi, October 29 (TNA) The offensive of the Varanasi Police Commissionerate against criminals continued on Friday and two criminals were wounded in an encounter at the Ram Nagar police station area. The duo was fleeing after snatching a gold chain and as the polcie elarnt of this, they were on hot pursuit.

The miscreants had run away after carrying out the robbery in Sigra police station. Both the injured criminals were sent to the hospital for treatment. They have been engaged in chain snatching in many areas of the city in the past.

Both the criminals are residents of Khalaspur in district Bhabua of Bihar. In the neighboring districts of UP including Bihar, such as Chandauli, Mirzapur the duo have also executed many incidents.

They used tod rive 110 km-plus to come to Varanasi and committ the crime. The police encounter was a joint operation of SOG, Ram Nagar and Sigra Police. The encounter took place on the port road of Ram Nagar.

A motor cycle, 2 illegal arms, cartridges and a chain of looted gold were recovered from the criminals.
