CBI Yet To Complete Probe Even After 80 Months Of Infamous Jawaharbagh Incident, Allahabad HC to Hear Matter Today

Prayagraj, Nov 11 (TNA) The Allahabad High Court (HC) will be hearing a matter pertaining to the infamous Jawaharbagh incident of 2016. In an attempt to clear out the public park from squatters in Mathura on June 2, 2016 the police teams were attacked by the irate mob, leaving two dozen people, including the then SP (City) of Mathura Mukul Dwivedi dead.

The Allahabad High Court had ordered a CBI inquiry in 2017, but even after 80 months have passed the probe is yet to be completed. The HC had directed the CBI to complete the probe in two montsh and apprise it of the investigations.

The squatters, an armed group led by a Ram Vriksh Yadav, once a follower of Jai Gurudev, had been occupying the site since 2014. Ram Vriksh Yadav, originally from Ghazipur, was running a parallel government, complete with administration, revenue and armed forces, within the park.
