Body of Young Girl Found In Pond In Prayagraj, Honour Killing Suspected

Prayagraj, August 16 (TNA) Body of a young girl was fished out of a pond in Gangapur area of Prayagraj on Monday, police said. The body has been identified as a 20-year-old student of BA.

She as a resident of Bajha village at Jhunsi and had disappeared mysteriously from her house on Sunday. He family frantically searched her but she could not be found.

Her brother then filed a kidnapping case against the unknown. Villagers discovered the body in the pond and then informed the police. Police has taken the body in their possession and sent it for autopsy. Sources said that the girl had got pregnant and the family only killed her and then threw the body in the pond.

Inspector of Jhunsi police station Shamsher Bahadur Singh says that all the facts are being closely investigated. "We are awaiting postmortem report. Further action will be taken on this basis", he further said.
