BJP Office-bearer Beaten To Death In Amethi

Lucknow, July 19 (TNA) An office-bearer of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Amethi late Tuesday by beaten to death by unidentified miscreants. The deceased - Dinesh Singh, was booth president of the BJP and was going somwehere on his bike when he was attacked neat Bhithari village. He was mercilessly beaten and left to die. Passersby rushed him to a nearby medical facility but he could not be saved.

The incident sent shockwaves in the area as it happened barely an hour after Amethi MP and union minister Smriti Irani concluded her tour to her parliamentary constituency. According to information, the 40-year-old BJP office bearer was on his way when six bike-borne miscreants overtook his motorcycle and intercepted him.

But before the unsuspecting man could understand what was coming, the miscreants started raining blows on him and attacked him with iron sticks and lathis. SHO Nirmal Singh informed reporters that so far no complaint has been received from the family but a manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits.
