LUCKNOW || Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) lawmaker Janmeya Singh passed away in Deoria late on Thursday night. The demise of the Deoria Sadar legislator has been mourned by chief minister Yogi Adityanath and Assembly Speaker Hriday Narayan Dixit.
Following the development, the Samajwadi Party (SP) postponed its agitation against the government, slated for Friday.
In his condolence message, the monk-turner-politician chief minister said that the 73-year-old lawmaker was a dedicated public representative, who worked very hard for the upliftment of the poor and the marginalised. The late leader was twice elected to the UP Vidhan Sabha - the 16th and the 17th.
