BJP Leader's Brother Shot In Celebratory Firing At A Wedding In Mirzapur, Dies During Treatment

Mirzapur, Nov 22 (TNA) Brother of a BJP leader was killed when he was shot during celebratory firing in a marriage procession on Sunday night in Mahant Shivala of Katra Kotwali area of ​​Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh. The youth was taken to a medical afcility for treatment but was referred to the Varanasi Trauma Center where he died during treatment.

The SP, ASP City, CO City, who reached the spot, have started investigating the matter. According to information available, procession of Amardeep Singh, a resident of Station Road, had come in Sarju Udyan Marriage Lawn located in Mahant Shivala of Katra Kotwali area. 25-year-old Ashish Gupta, brother of a BJP leader, Shambhu Gupta, a resident of Sai Mandir, Vasaliganj, had also gone to attend the wedding ceremony.

Another member of the baraat at the wedding was firing in the air. During the firing, Ashish, the brother of the BJP leader, who attended the wedding ceremony, got shot in the stomach. There was panic as soon as the young man was shot. People hurriedly admitted the injured youth to the Divisional Hospital for treatment.

Seeing the condition of the young man here, the doctors were referred to the Varanasi Trauma Center. Ashish died during treatment at the Trauma Centre. After getting information about the incident, Katra Kotwali police including SP Ajay Kumar Singh, SP City Sanjay Kumar Verma, CO City Prabhat Rai reached the spot. Inquiries are being made regarding the incident. Police have taken the body in possession and sent it for post-mortem.
