BJP Candidates For Rajya Sabha Polls File Nominations In Lucknow

LUCKNOW || All the eight candidates of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) named for the biennial Rajya Sabha elections from the state filed their nomination papers in the state capital on Tuesday, the last day to file nominations. Samajwadi Party (SP) general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Ramji Gautam have already filed their nomination papers.

Ten Rajya Sabha seats go for polls. BJP candidates were accompanied by chief minister Yogi Adityanath, deputy chief minister's Keshav Prasad Maurya, Dinesh Sharma and state unit chief Swatantra Dev Singh.

The candidates who filed the papers on Tuesday include union minister of state for civil aviation Hardeep Singh Puri, Arun Singh, Neeraj Shekhar, who is the son of former prime minister Chandrashekhar, retired UP DGP Brijlal, veteran party leader BL Verma, former UP minister Haridwar Dubey of Agra, Geeta Shakya from Auraiyya and former legislator Seema Dwivedi.
