Big Day For India As UP Bureaucrat Wins Silver In Badminton At Tokyo Paralympics

Lucknow, Sep 5 (TNA) In a big day for Indian badminton, the silver meda won by Suhas LY at the Tokyo Paralympics rung in special and added joy to the state of Uttar Pradesh. For he is a UP cadre IAS officer, currently posted as district magistrate of Noida (Gautambuddhnagar).

Suhas LY is the No. 3 Badminton player in the world. He was selected by the World Badminton Federation. Suhas is an Indian professional para-badminton player and IAS officer of the year 2007 batch. Suhas is currently ranked third in the world in men's singles.

He was earlier serving as the District Magistrate of Prayagraj. Then in March 2018, he became the national champion by winning a gold medal in the second National Para Badminton Championship held in Varanasi. PM Modi and UP Chief minister Yogi Adityanath have greeted the bureaucrat-sportsman on his success.
