Bhadohi Police Arrests Inter-State Smuggler With Opium Worth Rs Seven Crores

Bhadohi, March 10 (TNA) The district police during checking at the National Highway Bade Shiv Marg turn, acting on tip-off of an informer, have arrested a smuggler. Opium worth Rs 7 crore has also been recovered from the smuggler. After interrogation, the smuggler was sent to jail.

The inter-state smuggler was arrested with seven-and-a-half kilos of opium near the National Highway bus stand. The smuggler has been identified as Najibul Haq Sheikh, a resident of Murshidabad, West Bengal. During interrogation, the accused said that he was buying opium from Bengal and taking it to cities like Delhi etc. SP Dr. Meenakshi Katyayan said that the smuggler has been sent to jail.
