Bar Association Of Allahabad HC To Abstain From Work On Saturday

Prayagraj, Sep 16 (TNA) The Bar Association of the Allahabad High Court (HC) on Friday announced its decision to abstain from judicial work after lunch on Friday and for the full day on Saturday. This, a statement said, was as a mark to protest against the proposal to elevate certain advocates as HC Judges who are purportedly not practicing before the Allahabad High Court.

The decision to abstain from work comes in wake up of a similar decision by the Oudh Bar Association which passed a resolution to this effect. The Allahabad High Court collegium has sent a proposal to the Supreme Court Collegium to elevate certain advocates who though are not practicing before the Allahabad High Court in either of the benches.
