Bank Scam Accused Rahul Kothari Gets Conditional Bail From High Court

Lucknow May 27 (TNA) Bank scam accused Rahul Kothari has got a big relief from the High Court. The High Court has granted him conditional bail. He is an accused in a Rs 7800 crore bank scam. After the death of his father Vikram Kothari on January 4, Rahul got interim bail from the Supreme Court. After being out of jail for two months, Rahul had to go to jail again on March 3. After this, the High Court once again granted interim bail to Rahul till the bail plea was heard.

Now after hearing the bail plea, Justice Omprakash accepted Rahul's bail. For now, he doesn't have to go to jail. Advocate for Rahul argued that many co-accused in the case have got bail from the Supreme Court. This is Rahul's second bail application. After the dismissal of the first bail petition, a special petition was filed in the Supreme Court, on which interim relief was granted.

A case related to the same case was registered by the CBI, in which bail was granted by the Lucknow Bench of the High Court. After coming out of jail, another case was registered on behalf of Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) and sent to jail again. Rahul's father is dead and mother is seriously ill. Rahul is the only son to take care of them.

At the same time, it was argued on behalf of SFIO that Rahul is the main accused in the case. Public sector banks have suffered huge losses. The first bail has been rejected on the same grounds as the arguments given in the second bail plea.
