Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Cycle Yatra Receives Grand Welcome In Kanpur

Kanpur, Oct 23 (TNA) The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava Cycle Yatra to commemorate 75th year of independence which began from Banaras Hindu University and is to conclude at the Raj Ghat in New Delhi received a grand welcome in Kanpur on Saturday.

The Yatra consists of 14 NSS volunteers of BHU, led by Dr Bala lakhendra program coordinator NSS BHU. They started from BHU on 17th of this month and travelled to Prayagraj, Kalakakar (Pratapgarh), Raebareli, Lucknow, Kakori and Bithor before reaching Kanpur.

Yatra would be culminating at Rajghat New Delhi on 31st of October- the National Unity Day to commemorate birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Contingent consists of volunteers hailing not only from UP, but also from Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.

During the course of their travel they are interacting with students of various colleges , discussed with them the values of freedom fighters and their contribution to the society. They are also spreading awareness about discarding the single use plastic to make environment clean and green.

Commissioner Raj Shekhar congratulated the members of the contingent for their spirit of nationalism and daring effort of organising a cycle yatra to celebrate the 75th year of independence.
