Awadh KHELadis Create History, Make It To Finals Of The National Championship Series 2022

Lucknow, May 16 (TNA) Comprised of youngsters belonging to underprivileged backgrounds, the team has been created and mentored by Project KHEL over the last 6 years to reach this level. On Monday, they beat all odds to reach the finals, where they played FlyWild of Chennai, the reigning champions from before COVID.

Head Coach of Awadh KHELadis, Akshai Abraham shared, "We have worked very hard over the last 6 years to be where we are today. Even during COVID lockdown, the team practiced whenever possible, met online, watched and analyzed videos, etc whenever practice was not possible.

We share a very close relationship with our children and seeing them achieve this is really testament to the hard work they have put in with me over the last two years. Initially, our team relied on natural athletism but now they've grown both in skills and in strategy to complement their speed."

The team practices at a public park in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow and often struggles to find space to even do basic drills. In spite of overwhelming odds they have made the city proud! Soon these youngsters will represent the country at international level.
