Atique-Ashraf Murder: UP Government Files A Caveat In Supreme Court, Urges Hearing Of Its Side Before Passing An Order

New Delhi, April 26 (TNA) The Uttar Pradesh government has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court demanding that it be heard before the apex court passes any order with regards to the killing of don brothers Atique Ahmed and Ashraf. The duo was killed in presence of media persons when they were being taken to a hospital while in a four-day police custody in Prayagraj on the night of April 15.

Last month the don, then jailed in Sabramati jail of Ahmedabada, Gujarat had filed a petition before the SC, apprehending threat to his life while being in UP for a hearing on Umesh Pal kidnapping case. Recently a public interest litigation (PIL) was filed by advocate Vishal Tiwari, demanding, an inquiry by forming a committee under the supervision of a retired judge of the Supreme Court, on which the Supreme Court is going to hear on April 28.
