As Opposition Leaders Dish Out Mere Statements, Sanjay Singh Rushes To Meet Family Of Former MLA Beaten To Death

LAKHIMPUR KHERI || At a time when most opposition party leaders sat back and issued statements condemning the killing of three-term former legislator from Nighasan, Nirvendra Mishra, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh late on Sunday reached Lakhimpur Kheri and met the bereaved family of the slain leader and consoled them for their loss.

The Rajya Sabha member who has been upping the ante on the spiralling crime for the past few weeks assured the family that AAP was with them in this testing time and would do all in its power to bring the guilty to justice.

Singh condemned the killing and demanded that the Circle Officer of Ballia, who has been named by the son of Mishra for his complicity in getting the murderers off the hook by barging into Mishra's house, beating the women, be booked for the crime and arrested.

He also demanded that the Yogi Adityanath government pay a compensation of Rs one crore to the family of the deceased leader.

He also expressed his disgust and anger at the spiralling crimes in the state and rued the fact that despite heart wrenching crimes of kidnapping, rape and murder of minors no heads had rolled in either the police or the state's home department.
