As Manish Sisodia Is Arrested, SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav Says BJP Has Conceded Defeat In 2024 Elections

Lucknow, February 26 (TNA) The Samajwadi Party (SP) late on Sunday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the arrest of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the liquor scam. Party chief Akhilesh

Yadav in a tweet said that the arrest was a signal, clear enough, that the ruling BJP has lost all hopes of return to power in 2024.

“The arrest is a clear indication that BJP has given up much before the national elections in 2024” the former UP chief minister said in the tweet.

He also accused the BJP of targeting opposition leaders and framing them in similar cases in different states and said that people who have struggled in politics and stood for values are not afraid of beinf arrested.

He concluded by saying “for how long can truth be under arrest”. Sisodia was arrested late evening by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the multi-crore liquor scam after over eight-hours of questioning.

While AAP has alleged political vendetta, the BJP has trashed the claims and said law was taking its own course as the AAP leaders were mired kneck-deep in graft.
