Anticipating Massive Rush, Traffic Advisory Issued For Magh Purnima Bathing in Prayagraj’s Mahakumbh Mela

Prayagraj, February 11 (TNA) A massive influx of devotees is expected in Prayagraj for the Magh Purnima Snan, prompting authorities to issue a traffic advisory effective from February 10 to February 13. The advisory includes vehicle restrictions, designated parking zones, and pedestrian routes to ensure smooth movement and safety.

According to an official press release, vehicle movement will be restricted in the Mahakumbh Mela area from 8 PM on February 10 to 8 AM on February 13, except for emergency and administrative vehicles. Devotees arriving by private vehicles must park at designated locations and proceed on foot.

Parking Arrangements

From Jaunpur: Vehicles must park at locations like Chini Mill Parking, Surdas Parking (Garapur Road), and Badra-Saunoti Parking.

From Varanasi: Designated parking includes Mahua Bagh (Akhada Parking), Saraswati Parking, and Nageshwar Temple Parking.

From Mirzapur: Options include Devrakh Uparhar Parking and Tent City Parking.

From Rewa-Banda-Chitrakoot: Parking facilities are available at NavPrayagam Parking, Agriculture Institute Parking, and Mahewa Parking.

From Kanpur-Kaushambi, Lucknow-Pratapgarh, and Ayodhya: Separate designated parking areas are assigned, with pedestrian routes leading to the fairground.

Pedestrian Entry & Exit:

Devotees will enter via Jawaharlal Nehru Road and Kali Road and exit via Triveni Road. Akshayavat Darshan will remain closed on the main bathing days.
