Another Arrest Made By STF In CSJMU VC Vinay Pathak Corruption Case

Lucknow, Nov 7 (TNA) UP STF made another arrest on Sunday in Kanpur's CSJMU Vice Chancellor Dr. Vinay Pathak case. STF has arrested Ajay Jain, who allegedly managed Vinay Pathak's commission amount. Ajay is the owner of the international business firm Alwar (Rajasthan). Rs 73 lakhs of a said commission was transferred to the account of the company of the accused.

Earlier, Ajay Mishra, a close aide of Pathak, has been arrested by the STF. According to the STF, the accused Ajay Jain was given a notice for questioning in connection with the issue of fake bills and e-way bills to manage the money of Vice Chancellor Dr. Vinay Pathak's commission. When the accused was questioned, he could not answer well enough to the satisfaction of the probe officials.

During interrogation, the accused Ajay confessed to the fraud. After this, the police arrested him late on Sunday night. In the case, the police have extended the name of Ajay Jain. Apart from this, other sections including conspiracy, forgery and cheating have also been increased against Vinay Pathak, Ajay Mishra and Ajay Jain.

The STF says that the involvement of many others in corruption will be exposed, on the basis of which further action will be taken. An FIR was registered against Professor Vinay Pathak, Vice Chancellor of Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University, Kanpur, last week at the at Indiranagar police station for taking commission of lakhs of rupees while holding the post of Vice Chancellor of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra.
