AMU Resident Doctor Awarded For Book Review

Aligarh, September 7 (TNA) Dr Rehan Mateen, a resident doctor with the department of Psychiatry, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has won the third prize for a book review.

It was given for the ‘Seeing the Suffering’ competition of the Indian Psychiatry Society, Task Force on Creativity and Mental Health and Srivijaya Kalanikethana Shimoga, Karnataka for writing a review of a book on the intricacies of mental health struggle and how mental illness can take hold of people.

“In the review, Dr Rehan has brilliantly mapped out ups and downs of people with mental illnesses, their hopes and expectations and the survival modes they adapt to keep loneliness at bay”, said Prof Suhail Ahmed Azmi, Chairman, Department of Psychiatry.
